That’s a wrap! 2024 projects

This year was a busy one! Our crews traveled to Washington, California, Massachusetts, Illinois, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia and all across Florida. Keep reading to learn about some of the projects we completed this year:

  1. St. simon’s island cedar roof & siding

Located on St. Simon’s Island is this gorgeous coastal home. The siding features a mixture of stained 18” Perfections, Diamond Cutt™️ Shingles, Square Shingles and a wave course install pattern, and the roof is our 18” Western Red Cedar Perfections with a layer of triple stacked rows, all from Custom Shingles

2. jacksonville, Fl Copper standing Seam roof

This Jacksonville, Florida, home boasts a beautiful new Copper-Standing Seam Roof. The panels were made from 16oz. Copper, with 1” high seams and approximately 17” spacing. The end resulted in a stunning yet sturdy roof that’ll last 50 or more years, even with the harsh Florida salt and sun.

3. Massachusetts historic re-roof

Our most unique project this year was a historic reroof at Santarella Gardens in Massachusetts. This historic 1920s Gingerbread house had an 80-ton asphalt roof which was in need of replacement. Instead of traditional asphalt tabbed shingles, it was composed from rolls of asphalt which were modified in our shop to fit the style of the roof. It was installed as closely as possible to match the original roof’s install pattern. The bottom picture is the original roof.

4. Ludowici Clay Tile in Georgia

Also in Georgia, we completed a custom Ludowici roof on a new construction home. Working with the architect, the perfect color blend of Calais Shingle Tiles was achieved, with percentages of them being warped to the left or to the right. The Calais shingles has a flat clay tile shingle profile, with the warping adding in a rustic look.

5. 1920’s california cottage roof replacement

In California, our crew completed a stunning 1920s roof replacement. Being historic, the crew worked off of photos of the original roof to match the style as closely as possible. Shingles used were 16” #1 Grade Western Red Cedar Shingles installed at an average 2.625” average exposure. With the solid decking underneath and Titanium PSU 30 underlayment, this roof meets a Class ‘A’ fire rating. Check out some of the details around the dormers!

6. Washington State Cottage Roof Replacement

In Washington State, another cottage roof was completed with the same 16” Western Red Cedar Cottage roof system from Custom Shingles

6. Zinc Roof on Santa Rosa Beach House

Another Florida project completed this year was located in Santa Rosa Beach area. This beachside home got a whole new roof system made up of a .7mm Blue Gray Zinc coated standing seam roof and matching zinc gutter system. Check out the gorgeous bell tower details!
